I was quietly studying for my nonparametric statistic midterm, when I decided to check on the Presidential Tracking Poll as I have been doing for the past 2-3 months. I keep it as up to date as I can, and today I am proud to say that John Kerry is leading with 48.4%!! This is the first lead Kerry has had since August 23rd… Apparently, it is the senator’s highest total since August 17th too. This is great. This is giving me some hope for the elections.
I am apparently not alone in thinking that something like what happened in Florida might strike again for these elections. According to Rasmussen Reports, fifty-eight percent (58%) of likely voters are somewhat or very worried that another Florida-style mess will mar the end of Election 2004. It wouldn’t surprise me at all, but it would make me very angry for sure. I mean, it is sooo crazy that someone like Bush can get away with a total mess like what happened in Florida.
On a happier note, I think my nonparametric exam should go pretty well. I am still trying to figure out all the details about the normal approximations in the population model and then I am on to the discussion of the power and the alternative hypothesis. I really like that class, it’s super interresting. More details on Election 2004 to come.

Awesome game. We played our best game so far. The defence was getting the puck out of the zone and the offense was making really good plays. We actually got a couple of break aways. It was awesome. Keep in mind that this is one of the best team in the league (if not the best) and we manage to keep the scored to a very low 2 – 0. They played against Team Sucko Farm and beat them 9 – 1 (That team managed to beat us 4 – 0). So it’s a very good improvement.
As for working on the Huge Mac, it was also awesome. I finished my assignment in no time. The computer is so fast. It’s got a 23 inch monitor too so that you can put like three windows right beside each other to see everything that you are doing at the same time. It’s awesome! I need a computer like that at home now.
Soooo if you run out of ideas for xmas, now you know. Hahahah (Hmmm yeah, the computer is probably worth 5,000$, easy!).
On that note, I have to go study for my Non-parametric Midterm. I am pretty exited about it actually. I really like the material.

I am scared. Scared for two reasons, the hockey game tonight will be very tough and McGill campus is apparently not so safe these days. Actually right around where I work, four people, I think, were mugged during the past week. Yeah… Right around where I am playing hockey tonight too. Hahaha
I am also going to work on my computer, actually on David’s Huge Mac (Dual 1.8 Ghz with 4 Gigs of Ram) until 3h in the morning tonight to finish my bayesian analysis assignment. It’s due on monday but I have to study for my tuesday midterm over the weekend so I don’t want to worry about it. Should be fun. I can’t help but think how weird it is that as a graduate student you slowly begin to work all the time. I’ll elaborate on it later… Hehehe I’ve got to go to the hockey game.
